Legendary Gospel Singer DeLois Barrett Campbell Dies at 85
Chicago - DeLois Barrett Campbell, one of Chicago's legendary gospel singers died Tuesday on the South Side.

Arthritis forced Barrett Campbell into a wheelchair for much of her later life, but her voice remained strong.

She was the oldest of the three Barrett Sisters, raised on Chicago's South Side, who grew to achieve international stardom in gospel music.

The trio also appeared in films and influenced numerous singers, including Jennifer Hudson.

Barrett Campbell was 85 years old.
